David Lodge first started to make my own professional quality frames because he wanted to frame his own pictures. He now frames anything from a simple sketch to spiders, tee shirts or even arrows stuck one in the end of the other.
He carries stock moulding but also has the ability to create bespoke mouldings for clients wishing to be unique.
Mitres are cut on a Morso mitre cutter, joints are glued then underpinned with a pneumatic underpinning machine. These two machines are essential for a perfectly mitred corner.
Company history:
As mentioned above David got into picture frames because he is a watercolour artist and he wanted to complete the whole process.
David tried with mitre saws but it was clear that, to achieve the quality he demanded, professional equipment was going to be needed.
David now produces perfect frames for other artists, both amateur and professional from his Picture Framing Studio in Manningtree nr Colchester
